Miriam Woodbury

November 3, 1945 — January 27, 2015

Miriam Lynn Woodbury, 69, Rural Wyndmere, ND passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at her residence. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 31, at 10:30 AM at West Prairie Free Lutheran Church, Rural Kindred, ND with Pastor Lee Hoops officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Nordmanna Cemetery, Rural McLeod, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Lynn was born on November 3, 1945 in Valley City, ND to Earl and Lois (Hanson) Jensen. She grew up in Englevale, ND until the family moved to northwest Richland County where she attended school at the Sheyenne Township Central School. She then went on and graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1964.

On August 7, 1964 Lynn was united in marriage to Arnold Woodbury at United Free Lutheran Church, Rural McLeod, ND. They then purchased a farm in Garborg Township where they have lived since. Lynn stayed home to raise their three children but also helped with the farm work and took care of a flock of sheep. For the last fifteen years, Lynn worked outside the home working for Radio Shack in Wahpeton, but she also did housekeeping, personal care, and companionship for friends around the area.

Lynn was very active in her church as a Sunday School teacher/superintendent and in the Ladies Aid. She was known as a very giving person, and the frequent visitors who dropped by the farm could be assured a satisfying meal, complete with homemade buns and jam. Lynn enjoyed the simple things in life such as sewing clothes for herself and her family, horseback riding, reading, and taking pride in her yard.

Lynn's biggest love in her life was her family. She held her children very dear which carried on to her grandchildren who she adored. She had a wonderful laugh and smile and one thing her family admired her for was for her ability to forgive and see something good in everybody.

Lynn is survived by her husband of 50 years, Arnold; her children, Theane (Michael) Pagel, Fulda, MN and their children Kirsten, Mallory, Suzanne; Teresa (Jeff) Perleberg, Fort Ransom, ND and their children, Casey, Elizabeth, Lane, Tucker; Todd (Rebecca) Woodbury, Wyndmere, ND and their children, Jack, Julia, Henry; her siblings, Glennis Hope (Jerry) Schmidt, Sidney, OH, Earl William "Bill" (Sandy) Bjerke, Leonard, ND, Maynard "Mick" (Denise) Bjerke, Troy, OH, Cathy (Jeffrey) Johnson, Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her two sisters, Faith Scammahorn and Rio Irvine.
