Myrtle B. Gregor, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on November 11, 2025, in Wahpeton, ND at the age of 93. Born on September 9, 1932, Myrtle lived a life rich in love, hard work, and devotion to her family and community.
A graduate of Lisbon High School, Myrtle demonstrated a strong work ethic early on, which she carried throughout her life. In her early years, she dedicated herself to providing childcare and maintaining homes for several families in the Lisbon area. On October 9, 1948, Myrtle married the love of her life, Frank Gregor. Together they built a home in Wahpeton filled with laughter and memories. It was during those years she took on the role in Dietary at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS), contributing to the well-being of countless students and staff over the years as well as raising her sons.
Myrtle treasured the moments spent with her family, especially at their beloved lake cabin on South Turtle Lake near Underwood. Such times were filled with joy, warmth, and the love that only a family can share.
Myrtle was not just a devoted wife and mother; she was also a passionate creator who enjoyed crafts of all kinds. Her dedication to her hobbies brought her joy and fulfillment, often sharing her creations with family and friends.
Myrtle is survived by her sons, Leland Gregor (Patty) and Rick Gregor, as well as her eight grandchildren, who will carry forward the spirit of kindness and creativity she instilled in them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank, and their son, Frank Jr. Myrtle was also preceded by her parents, Lyonal and Rose (Durgin) Groen, as well as her two sisters, Joyce Tayer and Adeline Hallett, and two brothers, Norman Groen and Edward Groen. The family will always hold close the memories of Myrtle's strength, love, and unwavering support.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton, North Dakota on November 22, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched many hearts throughout her time among us. Myrtle B. Gregor will forever be remembered for the love she shared and the lives she enriched.
