Nancy Tischer

Nancy Tischer, 55, rural Great Bend, ND, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, surrounded by her family at Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND, after a courageous battle with cancer. The funeral service will be Monday, November 17, 10:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church , Great Bend , with Rev. Anthony Ahrendt officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 16, from 4 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM prayer service at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton and one hour before service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery , Great Bend .

Nancy was born January 8 ^th , 1953, the daughter of Albert and Doris (Hesteness) Wichael in Breckenridge , MN . She grew up in the Campbell MN , area and graduated from Campbell High School in 1971. Nancy attended Ritter’s Beauty School in Fergus Falls , MN , where she also taught. She married Kenneth Brendefur on February 1 ^st , 1975 and operated her own daycare center out of her home for several years. In 1991 she started working a 3M in Wahpeton where she worked for eight years.

Nancy was united in marriage to Roger Tischer on July 11, 1998 in Wahpeton. She enjoyed life on the farm and spending quality time with Roger.

Nancy had a close relationship with God, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church , Great Bend , and had been a Sunday School Superintendent at Faith Community Church , Campbell . She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and was looking forward to her newest grandchild. She enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Roger Tischer, Great Bend; two daughters: Shannon Brendefur and Neelie Brendefur (Fiancé Aweis Nur) all of Fargo, ND; three step-children: Tanya (Jeremy) Lasher, Bismarck, ND; their children Brianna and Bryce; Chad (Jen) Tischer, Wahpeton, ND; Scott Tischer (special friend Bridget) Hudson, Wisc.; her mother Doris Wichael, Breckenridge, MN; four sisters and her brother: Flo Neubauer, Campbell, MN; Dee (Bob) Cramer, Mankato, MN; Judy Wright, Monticello, MN; Evie (Kenneth) Link, Underwood, MN; and James (Maureen) Wichael, Wahpeton, ND; her mother-in-law, Mildred Tischer, Fargo, ND; brothers and sisters-in-law: Joanne (Ron) Wilner, Fergus Falls, MN; Dave (Rita) Tischer, Great Bend, ND; Eunice Theisen, Wahpeton; Carol (Craig) Carlson, Mandan, ND; Cheryl (Bruce) Hagen, Reeder, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her father, Albert Wichael and her sister Patty Korinek.
