Norman D. Williams Jr., 54, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, in his home under the care of HIA Hospice. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 5 pm - 7 pm, with a prayer service beginning at 6:30pm, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton. His funeral service will be on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11 am, with visitation one hour before at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wahpeton.
Norman Dale Williams Jr was born on July 1, 1972, to Norman and Carol (Blizzard) Williams in St Joseph, MO. He grew up and attended school in St Joseph and graduated from Elwood, KS, with a class of 13 students. During his younger years, he enjoyed bicycling and skateboarding with his friends. He also enjoyed fishing with his dad. On June 3, 2000, Norm married his soulmate, Shelly Hills, at St John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND. The couple made their home in Wahpeton, where they raised their family. They enjoyed taking their yearly trips to Missouri to visit family. Norm started at Primewood/Quanex in 1996 and continued his employment there for 30 years.
Norm had a passion for motorcycles, which began in 1996. He had a few different bikes throughout the years until he got his Harley-Davidson Softail Slim in 2021. He loved taking Shelly and his kids on rides. He also enjoyed riding to Jersey Mike's with his close friend Josh.
Norm and his daughter Madison spent time together watching black-and-white movies. Norm and his son Connor bonded over collecting Hot Wheels together. Date nights with Shelly were always a favorite too. His hobbies also included collecting old coins. The newest was magnet fishing.
Norm is survived by his wife, Shelly Williams; his children, Connor Williams and Madison Williams; his granddaughter, Everleigh Walker-Williams; his siblings Candice Painter, Lisa Moser, Bart Painter, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Carol Williams; his siblings, Sherry Painter, Shannon Williams, Richard Painter; and his father-in-law, Jerry Hills.
