Patricia Prchal

Patricia Ann Prchal, 91, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away at CHI St. Francis Home in Breckenridge, MN. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018, with a Christian Mother’s Rosary at 5:00 p.m. and the prayer service at 5:30 p.m. at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. Visitation will resume on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton, followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Lidgerwood, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home.

Patricia Ann was born on the family farm near Hankinson, ND, on March 11, 1927, to Peter and Sophia (Grob) Differding. She grew up there and attended school at St. Francis Academy. On June 8, 1948, Patricia was united in marriage to Thomas Prchal at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Hankinson, ND, and they made their home in Mantador, ND.

After seven years of marriage, Thomas passed away on July 4, 1955. At that time Patricia moved to Wahpeton with her family, where she raised her four children and five younger siblings, as both of her parents were deceased.  Once all the children were raised, Patricia devoted 20 years working in the dietary department at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN.

Patricia loved her family and all the time she was able to spend with them. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed passing along her passions for baking bread and her specialty caramel rolls. When Patricia wasn’t busy baking, she appreciated spending time outside in her flower gardens.

Patricia will be greatly missed by her children, Kenneth Prchal of Wahpeton, ND; Ronald (Denise) Prchal of Dalton, MN; Beverly Hansen of Eagan, MN; Nephew, Brent (Les) Differding of Wahpeton, ND; her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her two brothers, Adolph (Eunice) Differding and Jerome Differding; and her sisters-in-law, Helen Differding and Delores Differding.

Patricia was preceded in death her parents, Peter and Sophia (Grob) Differding; her husband, Thomas; her son, Donald; her son-in-law, Thomas E. Hansen; her sisters, Helen Ostby, Florence Weiss, Mary Evenson, Jean Ostby, Deloris Gereszek and Sophia Differding; brothers, Cyril, Francis, Benjamin, Charles and Peter Differding; her sisters-in-law, Bernice, Vicky and Gerry Differding; and her brothers-in-law, Seavert Ostby, Norman Ostby and Danny Gereszek.
