Paul Aigner

Paul P. Aigner, 71, Wolverton, MN, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Ecumen Evergreens of Moorhead. A Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 25, at Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton, MN, with Rev. Mark Manning officiating. Visitation will be from noon to the time of service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery, Wolverton, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Paul Phil Aigner was born December 12, 1945 in Fargo, ND, the son of Phil and Beatrice (Carlson) Aigner. He was raised on the family farm near Wolverton, attending grade school in Wolverton and high school in Breckenridge, MN. Paul was united in marriage to Paula Ihland on September 18, 1965 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Abercrombie, ND. The couple lived on the family farm where Paul farmed with his grandfather, father and brother. Early in his farming career, Paul helped raise horses and cattle. He was very mechanical, and specialized in working on carburetors and welding projects.

Paul enjoyed spear fishing, street rods, and participating his “Junkyard Dog” tractor in tractor pulls with his brother and friends. He kept active hunting near Thief River Falls, and participating in the Backyard Rodder car club. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Wolverton American Legion and Wolverton Men’s Club. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his wife, Paula, Wolverton; a daughter and two sons: Beth Swenson, Fergus Falls, MN; Daniel (Julie) Aigner, Breckenridge, MN; and Ross (Tina) Aigner, Wolverton; eight grandchildren: Conor, Hanna and Ellie Swenson; Ellen and Jack Aigner; Hunter, Sophie and Claire Aigner; a great granddaughter, Vada Swenson; a sister-in-law, Jean Aigner; a brother-in-law, Doug Herrick; and sister and brother-in-law, Janelle and Neal Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne; mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Iola Herrick and a sister-in-law, Lucy Herrick.
