Ramon ‘Bum’ Cagley, 77, died Saturday, December 11, 2009, at his residence at rural Wahpeton, ND after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 17 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Wahpeton with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. Prayer Service followed by a Knight’s of Columbus Rosary at the Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton; also, visitation Thursday one hour prior to time of service at the church. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery , Wahpeton.





Raman “Bum” Lorenz Cagley was born February 15, 1932 at Valley City , ND to Lewis and Agnes (Mahler) Cagley. The family moved to Wyndmere , ND where he graduated from High School in 1950. He married Ramona E. Moulsoff on September 20, 1954, at Mantador , ND at St. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church. The couple moved to Denver , CO where he worked for the Coors Brewery for 3 years. In 1958 they moved to Minneapolis , MN and continued to work for Super Valu until 1985 as the Warehouse Supervisor. IN 1985 he moved to Wahpeton where he was the Building and Grounds Supervisor of the Wahpeton Public School System. He retired in 2005.





He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Knight’s of Columbus Council 2205, Eagles Aerie No. 2749, and a former member of the Hennepin Co. Emergency Rescue Squad. He enjoyed reading, his time at the lakes with his family, traveling, and especially his German Shepherd, Sabrina and his former German Shepherd Vanna Black.





He is survived by his 2 sons, Dan (ZoAnn) Cagley, Corcoran , MN , Michael Cagley, Glendale , MD ; his step-grandson, Zachariah (Shandra) Prowell, St. Louis Park , MN ; his step-great-granddaughter, Lila; his niece, Kate (Joe) Beckman, St. Paul , MN ; and his sister-in-law, Marjorie Cagley, Fargo , ND .





He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gordon; and his nephew, Chris.
