Regina Haberman

November 10, 1923 — August 25, 2015

Regina Haberman, 91, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at St. Catherine's Living Center, Wahpeton, ND. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, August 28, at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Mooreton, ND with Rev. Peter Anderl officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a Rosary at 6:40 PM followed by a prayer vigil at 7 PM at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Mooreton, ND.

Regina was born on November10, 1923 in Mantador, ND to Leo and Anna (Reiland) Puetz. She grew up and attended school in Mantador, where she was involved in 4H and Sodality through her church. She graduated from Wahpeton High School.

Regina was united in marriage to Lawrence Haberman on January 12, 1942 at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Mantador, ND. The couple farmed 4 ½ miles northeast of Barney, ND in Antelope Township. There she was active in St. Anthony's, and served in several offices in the Guild, and taught religion classes. She was also a 4H Leader. In 1978, they moved to Wahpeton, ND. Lawrence passed away on August 30, 1994 and Regina continued to live in Wahpeton until 2011 when she moved to Riverview Place in Fargo, ND. She lived there until she moved to St. Catherine's Living Center in August of 2014.

Regina was a longtime member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Mooreton, and later was involved with St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and Christian Mothers; she was a member of the Elkettes, did volunteer work with St. Catherine's for many years; Hospice Volunteer, receiving "Volunteer of the Year Award" and served on the St. Francis Auxiliary.

Regina is survived by her children, Ronald (Althea) Haberman, Boise, ID, Richard (Linda) Haberman, Barney, ND, Paulette (Dennis) Nagy, Weirton, WV, Carl "Chuck" (Patti) Haberman, Apple Valley, MN, Steven (Sheila) Haberman, Barney, ND, Idette (Doug) Jones, Wyndmere, ND; her 17 grandchildren: Kim, Jason, Kristen, Deanna, Marsha, Laura, Rich, Jessica, Eric, Lindsey, Rachel, Mike, Ben, Lance, Melissa, Sarah, and Amanda,; her 33 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Marcus, Alexandra, Meridith, Olivia, Noah, Dylan, Andrew, Aaliya, Elsa, Easton, Breanna, Riley, Harper, Asher, Maxwell, Leah, Ellie, Alex, Evan, Neil, Ulysses, Arlo, Mason, Alexis, Alivia, Andrew, Bailey, Gavin, Taige, Teigen, Tyler and Traedyn; her sisters, Delores Lenz, Breckenridge, MN, Rose Ann Belunas, Milwaukee, WI, her brother, Norbert Puetz, Seattle, WA; her sister-in-law, Madonna Haberman, Wahpeton, ND, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Anna Puetz, her husband, Lawrence Haberman, her son, Curtis, an infant son, her sister, Madelia Leske, and her brother, Al Puetz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Mooreton, St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, or Carmelite Monastery, rural Wahpeton.
