Robert Andrew Ries was born on January 12, 1963, in Lisbon, ND to LaRay and Elaine Ries. He was the youngest of four children. Even though Robert accomplished many great things, including graduating from NDSCS in Civil Engineering, he was without a doubt a man devoted to his family.
He was the man with all of the answers. He put his family and friends first in every situation, and always knew how to guide each of his children into their futures. If there was ever a worry or question brought to him, he would find an answer.
Robert enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Janea, and three kids, Ryan, Savanah, and Jacob. He was also a dad to two loyal dogs, Sophie and Sadie. He loved being outside and spent many days helping out at the farm. He loved playing games with his family, baking cookies, but his favorite past time was sitting out on the deck with the people he loved.
Robert always had a project going on in his head. He was always looking for a way to improve life. Ideas and plans were a common subject when talking with him. Home improvement, building things for people in his life, and coming up with the next big thing were all things you could find him doing.
Most people would say that his laugh was his most memorable feature. You could hear it a mile away and it always put a smile on your face. Robert Andrew Ries was a man that knew how to bring happiness and love into any space, and he will continue to bring happiness through all the wonderful memories he has made with the people in his life. One laugh at a time.
Along with his parents, wife, and children, Robert will be also be missed by his siblings, Gordon (Kim) Ries, John (Paula) Ries, and Marianne (Blaine) Hoffmann.
We will cherish you and carry you in our hearts, forever.
