Roger Mohs

April 18, 1944 — August 6, 2014

Roger Mohs, 70, rural Great Bend, ND passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND. Funeral services will be on Monday, August 11, at 10:30 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, ND with Rev. Sean Daenzer officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 pm to 7 pm with a 7 pm prayer service at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Great Bend. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Roger was born on April 18, 1944 in Breckenridge, MN to Elroy and Adeline (Anderson) Mohs. He grew up on the family farm and attended country schools in Summit Township and graduated from Wahpeton High School. He went on to attend NDSSS and received a degree in Auto Mechanics. He then returned to the farm and farmed with his family. Roger also worked on many campaigns with Minn-Dak Farmers Coop.

Roger was united in marriage to Virginia Dibbert on April 30, 1966 and to this union three girls were born, Tana, Brenda, and Karla. Roger lived on his farm his entire life and was a dedicated caregiver to his father, Elroy until he passed away in 2008.

Roger was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taking pictures, and was quick to tell a story to anyone who was willing to listen. He especially loved the times he could spend with his family.

Roger is survived by his three daughters, Tana (Paul) Miranowski, Breckenridge, MN, and their children, Emily and Travis; Brenda (Joe) Armstrong, Otsego, MN and their children, Conner, Mariah, and Cade; Karla (Brian) Goerdt, Northfield, MN, and their children, Abigail, Jacob, Hannah, and Joshua; his siblings, Sandra Jaksha, San Antonio, TX, Curtis (Kathy) Mohs, Helena, MT, Barbara (Carl) Sellent, San Diego, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Adeline Mohs, his brother, Ronald Mohs, and an infant brother, Elroy.
