Ronald Prchal

Ronald "Ron" Prchal, 74, of Dalton, MN, formerly of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, June 23, 2025, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home. His funeral service will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 10:30 am, with visitation one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Ron Prchal was born April 16, 1951, at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN. He was living at home in Mantador, ND, with his parents and siblings until his father, Thomas, passed away. His mother, Patricia, and children then moved to Wahpeton, ND.

Ron met Denise Oberg in 6th grade, and they married after graduating from Wahpeton High School in 1969. They were blessed with four amazing children, Tom, Brad, Kari, and Ron Jr.

In 1970, Ron attended college and received his degree as a Radiology Technologist. He became the Department Head of Radiology at Wheaton Community Hospital until 1978, when Ron and Denise moved back to Wahpeton, where Ron worked for St. Francis Hospital. At that time, he became a Registered Sonographer, which he loved. In 2002, he went to work for DMS Imaging and served many hospitals in Minnesota until he retired in 2011. Ron also owned and operated Prchal Printing in Wahpeton from 1979 to 1987. Ron and Denise then made their home on 10 Mile Lake in Dalton, MN.

Ron loved being a father and grandfather. Ron also loved the Lord and loved serving the Lord. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, keeping bees, and was very active with many hobbies.

Ron is survived by his wife, Denise, son Tom (Dena) & Lauren, son Brad (Tracy) Nick, Jake (Serena) & Charlotte and Randy, and Matt, daughter Kari (Richard) Fletcher, Mason and Sophie, son Ron Jr. (Heather) Misty (Josh) & Elijah, Jaxson, Hailey & Peyton, brother Ken Prchal, and sister Bev Hansen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Patricia, and his brother Donald Prchal.

He will be missed by many.
