Scott Erickson

February 5, 1958 — May 26, 2024

Scott (Scooter) Erickson, 66, of Wahpeton ND, passed away on May 26, 2024, at his home.

Scott was born February 5, 1958, in Breckenridge MN to Web and Louise Erickson as the middle of 5 boys. He graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1976.

He was married to Kay Wentzel of Fergus Falls in July 1980 and they raised two children together. In the more recent years, he has enjoyed his time with his fiancé, Michelle Brantl, her children, and grandchildren.

Right out of high school, he went to work with his dad at Meide & Sons. He also worked at Northwestern Sheet & Iron before he went to work for more than 20 years at MinDak Farmers Coop. After leaving there, he has been working for C&W Services at the Cargill plant in Wahpeton for the past 18 years. He was a very hard worker and also knew how to have a good time with friends.

Most of Scott’s free time was spent in the outdoors. His passion for hunting and fishing was infectious and he had many people that loved to share that time with him. He was a member of the Buffalo Club.

He is survived by his children, Patti (Mike) Weisz and Scott (Holly) Erickson Jr. His grandchildren Chloe and Lucy Weisz of Bismarck, ND, and Gabe and Shaun Erickson of Shakopee, MN. His four brothers Kevin (Val), Craig (Brenda), Terry, and Chris (Kim)

Also left to cherish his life are his fiancé, Michelle Brantl, and her children, Samantha Brantl and Zach Medenwaldt, and her grandchildren, Carter and Callie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and many friends.
