Sharon T. Tetzloff, 82, of Wahpeton, went to meet her maker on September 19, 2025, at 3:05 PM at St. Catherine's Living Center. Her funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm, with visitation one hour before the service, at the United Church of Christ in Wahpeton. Pastor Ken Adams will officiate the service. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery in Wahpeton.
Sharon was born on July 29, 1943, to Ferd J. and Taletta (Buss) Smith in Breckenridge, MN. She attended Mooreton School #1 and stayed on the family farm. She left the family farm at the age of 18 and began working at Clem’s Café where she met Jerry Tetzlaff. They married on December 22, 1962. She and Jerry had five children. They moved to Rugby, ND, for 1 ½ years before returning to the Mooreton and Wahpeton areas. She worked for Clem’s Café, NDSCS, and the Sav Mor Motel. In Mooreton, they operated Dutch’s Café and owned and operated the Last Chance Steakhouse Café. When the steakhouse burned down, they moved to Wahpeton. Jerry passed away in March of 1982. Sharon continued living in Wahpeton, where she raised her children. She loved doing crafts, woodworking and decorating fryn pan for many years. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Mooreton Legion Auxiliary. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Sharon leaves behind her son, Loren Dean (Kandi) Tetzloff, daughter, JoAnn (Andy) Dodd, son, Jeff (Laura) Nygaard, son-in-law, Todd Oswalt, 11 grandchildren, Britt (Cecelia) Rovig, Kayla Scott, Austin (Katelyn) Oswalt, Kayla (Mary) Devorak, Nathan Devorak, Brad Tetzloff, Dylon Tetzloff, Jordan Tetzloff, Aries (Tim) Finsaas, Kevin Tetzloff, 9 great-grandchildren, Cassidy Scott, Kayleigh Scott, Keeran Scott, Scarlette Rovig, Artemis Rovig, Cora Finsaas, Mykel Tetzloff, Lilly Tetzloff, Oakley Tetzloff, Seraia Tetzloff; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry in 1982, daughter, Pam Rovig in 2002, son, Don, in 2018, daughter, Lynn in 2022, Steve in 2023, grandson, Tony in 2025, parents, in-laws, 5 brothers and 3 sisters, Louis Smith, Lester (Grace) Smith, Vernon Smith, Lyle (Shirley) Smith, Marlyn (Ethel) Smith, Audrey (Harold) Roberts, Viola (John) Dauer, Lucylle (Ray) Nordick and Mark Schmitt and some very special friends and nieces and nephews.
