Stacey Mumm Enochson was born November 18th, 1965, to Dale and Bonnie (Olson) Mumm of Wahpeton, ND. She was the oldest of five children and grew up on a farm west of Wahpeton. She was very close to her siblings and took her job as big sister very seriously. She loved her sisters, brother, and sisters- and brothers-in-law deeply.
She attended grade school in Dwight and graduated from Wahpeton High School. She attended NDSCS in Wahpeton where she met Kyle Enochson. They were married in April 1986. Stacey then attended Josef’s School of Hair Design and worked as a cosmetologist. Later she went back to school and got her associate’s degree in accounting. They lived in Fargo, Wahpeton, Hutchinson, MN and then Glencoe, MN where they lived for 22 years. During that time, they were blessed with four children – Chelsi, Coby, Jacob and Jonah. They moved back to Wahpeton in 2012.
Stacey had a passion for kids. This led to over 30 years of Stacey’s Little People Daycare. All the kids she cared for over the years held such a special place in her heart.
Not only was their home full during the day with daycare, but many friends and family members called her home theirs over the years. Her door and her kitchen were always open, and always full of people and life. One of her worst fears was somebody starving – she was always known for bulk cooking. Stacey loved having everyone together under one roof and truly thrived on that. She often would say if she won the lottery, she would buy a giant home where all her friends and family lived together.
Stacey decided she was ready for a new adventure as she approached age sixty and regained her cosmetology license. She opened Stacey’s Salon Suites in Twin Town Villa in Breckenridge, where she worked the last eight months. She found joy in more than just doing hair – she loved the people there. Her love of being around people and creating happiness and memories led to other ventures over the years such as Stacey’s Little Popper and SK Limousine.
One of the highlights of her life was becoming a grandma. She loved being a mother, and she was ecstatic to be a grandma. One of her favorite things was spending time with the grandkids at the lake. She also liked to take advantage of her travel benefits, always pushing for the next family trip.
Stacey lived her life in style – she was a free spirit often wearing the brightest, sparkliest outfit in the room without a care. It was rare not to see her smile and she had a vibrant, contagious laugh. Her family often joked about her lack of an “inside voice.” Stacey loved her family, her friends, and she loved people. Most of all, she loved God. She talked about her faith and prayer all her life. Anyone who knows her, likely knew her favorite verse was Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” She greeted her kids with this every day (often to their annoyance).
Her taste for drama and spontaneity was exactly how she entered Heaven, on April Fool’s Day 2026. We have great comfort in knowing she is singing and dancing with Jesus.
Stacey is survived by her husband of forty years, Kyle Enochson; her children Chelsi (Cody) Schumacher, Coby Enochson, Jacob (Anna) Enochson, Jonah Enochson; grandchildren Blakely, Britten, and Layne.
Her parents Dale and Bonnie Mumm; her siblings Susan (Timothy) Geitz, Sheryl (Andrew) Zibrowski, Dustin (Kristen) Mumm, Nola (Bradley) Steier; her siblings-in-law Karla (David) Bucknall and Kathy Roden; her nieces and nephews, Megan (Tanner), Samuel, Abigail, Luke, Sophia, Lena, Margo, Marisa, Mariah, Eva, Brady, Eli, Katrina (Jacob), Joshua, Melissa, Thomas, Krista (Ethan); great nieces and nephews Everly, Malia, Senna, Beckett, and Roscoe; and her sweet goldendoodle Pollie. *Stacey would have preferred everyone she ever met to be on this list, but we were a little short on room :)
Stacey is welcomed into heaven by her grandparents Detlaf and Palma Mumm and Mary Olson; her in-laws William and Mavis Enochson; her nephew Jonathan Geitz; her dear cousin Heather Mumm; and many other family members.
