Steven Breden

Steven C. Breden, 53, Wahpeton, ND, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge , MN . The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at United Church of Christ (Congregational), Wahpeton. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Service at Willow Creek Chapel ( 920 3 ^rd Ave. N. ) Wahpeton and one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens , Wahpeton. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of arrangements.

Steven was born February 10, 1956, Breckenridge , MN , the son of Carol Schmidt of Hankinson , ND . He grew up in Hankinson and graduated in 1974 from Hankinson High School . On July 14, 1979 he married Barbara Wurzburger at Faith Lutheran Church , New Effington; SD. Steven has lived in Wahpeton since 1979. During their marriage they had two children; Sarah and Luke. He worked at Primewood, Wahpeton, from 1979 to the present.

Steven enjoyed being with his family and friends, gardening, watching the Twins and Vikings games and going to concerts.

Steven is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Breden, Wahpeton; his children: Sarah Breden, Wyndmere, ND; Luke Breden, Wahpeton; his mother, Carol Schmidt, Hankinson; three sisters: Sandy (Curt) Hubrig, Great Bend, ND; Susan (Chuck) Schultz, Mantador, ND; Nancy (Lynn) Hanson, Tell City, IN; three brothers: Jeff (Ruth) Schmidt, Hankinson, ND; Stanley (Patsy) Schmidt, Medford, WI; and Larry (Janella) Schmidt, Dent, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Luverne Schmidt, his grandparents: Emil and Anna Wallmann, and Olaf and Ragna Breden.
