Steven Nordick

Steven L. Nordick, 52, Wahpeton, ND, passed away surrounded by his family under the care of Riveredge Hospice at his residence on Wednesday, February 10, 2010. Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wahpeton, ND with Father Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 14, 2010 from 5 pm to 8 pm with a prayer vigil at 6 PM at Willow Creek Chapel (920 3 ^rd Ave. North) Wahpeton, ND. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Wahpeton, ND. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, ND.

Steve was born February 12, 1957 in Breckenridge, MN to Warren and Theresa (Althoff) Nordick. He grew up near Mooreton, ND where he attended grade school. He attended Middle School in Wahpeton and graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1975. He started working for Tangen Construction in high school and continued working for them after graduation. For a time he worked for Hoffert Farms, in 1997 when he started working in the maintenance department of St. Francis Healthcare Campus in Breckenridge, where he had been currently working. For the past fifteen years he also continued to work for Tangen’s Construction and managed All Seasons Car Wash in Wahpeton for a time. On September 24, 2004 he was united in marriage to Jane Honer and they resided in Wahpeton.

He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and of the Sons of the American Legion Mooreton –Robert Bergman American Legion Post No. 283. Home improvement work was Steve’s hobby along with many outdoor activities; Steve was known as a workaholic and was always willing to help others. He especially enjoyed his time spent with his grandkids.

Steve is survived by: his wife, Jane, Wahpeton, ND; and children, Heide (Travis) Martin, Fargo, ND, Tonya (Brad) Abel, Wyndmere, ND, Mike (Jenn) Hauschild, Wahpeton, ND, Courtney (Ethan) Ehlert, West Fargo, ND, Ben Nordick, Jamestown, ND, and Tyler Nordick, Jamestown, ND; his grandchildren, Reilly, Sierra, Peyton, Laiken, Brenyn, Aubree, Shae, Katelynn, Haylee, Audrina, and one grandchild due in April; five brothers and sisters: Jean (Ken) Krump, Wahpeton; Wayne (Lisa) Nordick, Battle Lake, MN; Beth (Kevin) Sondreal, Reynolds, ND; Kari (Brian Uhlich) Nordick, Wahpeton; Loran (Sharla) Nordick, Mooreton, ND; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larry and Pearl Honer, Breckenridge, MN, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Brian; and a sister-in-law, Judy Hauschild.
