Steven Frank Zoucha, 79, of Wahpeton, ND, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at 1:00 pm, with visitation one hour before the service, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home. Fr. Greg Haman will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND.
Steven Frank Zoucha was born July 19, 1947, in Humphrey, Nebraska, to Benedict and Genevieve (Schellinger) Zoucha. He married Clair (Clara Wegener) Lock on June 4, 1993, and gained 5 stepchildren: Donovan (Betsy) Cook, Jennifer (Brent) Larson, Lyle Levery, Amanda (Jimmy Deikman) Lock, and Gary Levery. He had a great love for those “kids,” and when asked who they were, he would say with a proud smile, this is my son or daughter. He also adored his 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Steve owned a heating and air conditioning business and faithfully served his customers for over 57 years. He served in the United States Air Force from 9/11/1965 to 2/11/1969.
Steve is survived by his wife, Clair (Clara) Zoucha, of 33 years; his stepchildren, grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His brother, Tony Zoucha; sisters, Anita (Jerry) Wiese, Cindy Larson; and many brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his mother and father; brother-in-law, Marvin Wegener, and niece Michelle Anderson.
Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren: Cody Cook, Shelby McBrayer, Hunter Beltz, Jonathon Beltz, Leland Levery, Layne Levery, and Nathan Garner.
