September 24, 1962 — December 10, 2017

Tammy L. Emmons, 55, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. The Funeral Service will be Thursday, 2:00 PM at United Church of Christ – Congregational, Wahpeton, with Rev. Ken Adams officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday, from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a 7 PM Prayer Service at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Arrangements have been entrusted with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Tammy Lynn Emmons was born September 24, 1962 in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Duane and Sharon (Buchholz) Orth. She grew up in Gwinner, ND, graduating from North Sargent High School. Tammy attended NDSCS and worked at the Fry’n Pan in Wahpeton, ND. She was united in marriage to Scott Emmons on May 23, 1987 in Gwinner. The couple moved to Boone, IA, returning to Wahpeton in 1989. Tammy worked at Sportsman Bar in Wahpeton and also with charitable gaming for several organizations in the Wahpeton area, most recently Head of the Red Gaming.

Tammy was known to be generous and big-hearted even when there was not much to be generous with. She loved children and always had many pets around her; whether it was dogs, cats, rabbits or Guinea pigs. She enjoyed cross stitch and was always cooking and baking for her family and friends.

Tammy is survived by her husband, Scott, daughter Ayla, and sons, Justin and Alex; two grandchildren: Hunter and Chelsea Wolfswinkel; her parents, Duane and Sharon Orth, Gwinner; her brother, Jamie (Shelly) Orth, Wyndmere; three sisters: Teresa (Scott) Illies, Lisbon; Tanya (Ryan) Mairs, Waseca, MN; Jodie (Jamie) Frankl, Velva;  and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and an infant brother, Jason.
