Thomas Milne

February 26, 1954 — April 23, 2016

Thomas John Milne, 62, Wahpeton, ND passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his family lake home under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 28, at 10:30 AM at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND with Rev. Dale Lagodinski officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 PM to 7 PM with a 7 PM Prayer Vigil at Willow Creek Chapel, Wahpeton. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements are entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Tom was born February 26, 1954, the son of George and Lillian (Zahonek) Milne in Breckenridge, MN. He grew up in Wahpeton attending St. John's Catholic School and graduating from Wahpeton Senior High in 1972. He attended NDSCS in Architectural Drafting and Design and moved to Warren, MN where he worked. He returned to Wahpeton and enrolled in Auto Body and Upholstery, taking his new trade to Jamestown ND, where he worked. In the late 70's Tom became employed by the Ingstad Broadcasting Company working at KOVC in Valley City and KBMW in Wahpeton. Continuing his education, Tom enrolled at Moorhead State University in the mid-eighties and obtained a degree in Accounting and Finance. He worked as a bookkeeper in Wahpeton before being employed as an accountant with Dakota Magic Casino near Hankinson, ND.

Tom was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Wahpeton. Tom was a gentlemen's gentle man. His main pastimes in life were music and cars. He was a handy person being able to take practically anything apart and put it back together. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time near the family's home by Lake Elsie.

Tom is survived by two brothers and his sister: James Milne, Wahpeton; Mary (Michael) Sullivan, Bloomingdale, IN; Frederick Milne, Wahpeton; and a nephew Patrick Sullivan, Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death his parents, George and Lillian, and his sister, JoAnne Milne.
