Wendy Kay Campbell

October 15, 1966 — December 2, 2023

Wendy Campbell, 57, of Breckenridge, MN, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Sanford on Broadway in Fargo, ND.  Her Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 11:00 am, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, ND, with visitation one hour prior.  René Hasbargen will officiate the service.

Wendy Kay Trower was born on October 15, 1966, in Sisseton, South Dakota, to Ray and Beverly (Nelson) Trower.  She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1985.

In 1986, Wendy was united in marriage to Mark Campbell at Breckenridge Lutheran Church.  They were blessed with three children, Travis, Justin, and Ashley.  The couple made their home in Breckenridge, MN.  After they were married, Wendy began working at Corner Drug in Wahpeton, North Dakota, where she retired in 2018, after 33 years of employment.  She was also a member of the Breckenridge Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Wendy was able to make everyone around her happy, always had a smile on her face, and a bottle of Coke in her hand.  One of her biggest enjoyments along with her bottle of Coke was a thin crust pepperoni pizza, but only from Pizza Hut.  She adored her six grandchildren and had a love for dogs.  Wendy had a knack for Diamond Art and playing cards.  She had her favorite TV shows, Survivor, Coach, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory, and Pioneer Woman.  It was well known that you didn’t call her during Survivor.  When you came to their home to visit, there was a special place where she always sat to enjoy the conversations to be had.  There were many memories shared of her at the cabin at Round Lake, either on the pontoon or fishing.

Wendy is survived by her husband, Mark; children Travis (Cheyenne) Campbell, Justin (Courtney) Campbell, Ashley (Sawyer) Mohs; mother, Beverly Trower; brother Jay Trower (Kris Vold); and grandchildren, Carson, Caleb, Bentley, Peyton, Kinsley, and Hudson; and her beloved dogs, Cali, Annie, and Misty.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Trower; and her grandparents, Irene and Ralph Nelson, and Sherman and Stella Trower.

Wendy’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Farmers Union Oil of Southern Valley for all the thoughts, prayers, food, and support.
