Willard Seifert

Willard P. Seifert, 96, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Friday, July 17, 2015 at his residence in Wahpeton. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, July 22, 2:00 PM at St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Chris Markman as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton. Arrangements have been entrusted with Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton.

Willard Paul Seifert was born October 7, 1918 in Wahpeton, ND, the son of Albert and Olivia (Grundman) Seifert. He attended school in Wahpeton and was united in marriage to Marge Biser on July 3, 1946. Willard lived in Wahpeton his entire life. At 14 he started to help his father learning the trade of "watch-maker". He took over operation of the family business in 1945, retiring in 2003, at the age of 84.

Willard was good at fixing and repairing items that others couldn't; he enjoyed summers with the family at Ottertail Lake, fishing and gardening.

Willard is survived by his seven children: Bill (Penny) Seifert, Wahpeton; Robert, Tom, and Chad Seifert, all of Wahpeton; Jane (Ron) Heiderscheid, Wahpeton; Barbara (Pete) Lucas, Great Falls, MT; and Nancy (Don "Curly") Hardyman, Helena, MT; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and an infant brother.

Memorials may be given to St. John's Catholic Church or School.
