Willie Lumpkins

Willie Edward Lumpkins Sr. was born on November 20, 1948 in Bastrop , Louisiana to J.C. “Percy” and Christella (Morgan) Lumpkins. He attended school at Franklin Junior High in Minneapolis , MN . He married Linda Haider in 1974 in Minneapolis . He worked in the Minneapolis area making machinery for several years. In 2002 he moved to Wahpeton, ND. He worked for a time at Prime Wood Manufacturing in Wahpeton. Willie was known as a kind man who would “give you the shirt off his back” if asked to. His door was always open to anyone he called “friend”.

He will be sadly missed by his children; Stacey Parenti, Cassandra (Melvin) Newbern, and Willie E. Lumpkins Jr., all of Minneapolis, MN, 13 grandchildren, his mother, Christella Morgan, Minneapolis, MN and a sister, Linda (Clyde) Hampton, Bastrop, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother.
