Zaiden Engen Ness

Zaiden Engen Ness, 2, Breckenridge, MN entered eternal life on January 6th, 2018 following a tragic car accident. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:45 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, N.D. Visitation will continue from noon to 1 p.m., followed by the funeral at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, at Inspiration Lutheran Brethren Church in Breckenridge. The Rev. Bruce Stumbo will officiate. Arrangements by Vertin- Munson Funeral Home.
Zaiden was born on June 5th, 2015 to Alyse Engen and Logan Ness. During his 2 ½ years of life he brought unending joy, love, and laughter to those around him through his continuous smile, affectionate personality, and genuine love for his family.
Zaiden was blessed with two parents who loved him dearly and cherished every day they had with him. He had the opportunity to visit Florida and California, water parks, amusement parks, numerous sporting events, “Uncle Buck’s Farm,” the hunting land, and he especially enjoyed his time at both lake cabins swimming, four-wheeling, jet skiing, fishing, boating, and tubing with family. He loved being outdoors no matter what the weather was and always wanted to “run errands.” Zaiden ended every day with, “Pray for…(always adding one more person to his prayers), “Sing me a song Daddy,” “One more kiss,” and “Love you this much Mommy” as he would stretch his arms out for one more hug.
Zaiden had a passion for all sports, playing with tractors, trucks and trains, as well as playing chase and games with family, friends, and his “puppies.” He loved all animals especially our large dogs and became their boss at a very young age. His vocabulary was beyond his years and he was rarely at a loss for words. Zaiden loved snuggling up and reading, always made those around him laugh, shared a smile and “wink” with everyone he met, and had a very personal and unique connection with each family member.
Zaiden will forever remain in the hearts of his parents, Alyse and Logan, maternal grandparents, Stu and Mary Engen, Breckenridge, MN, paternal grandparents, Greg and Kim Ness, Moorhead, MN, aunts, Mikkel (Mikel) Buckmier and Tierza Engen, uncles, Taylor Ness and EJ Engen, paternal great-grandparents, Jan and Bill Olson, Moorhead, and maternal great-grandparents, Lavon Engen and David and Betty Witte, along with a large extended family.
In lieu of flowers, please have memorials directed to Sanford NICU in memory of Zaiden.
