Gregory "Greg" Ista

Gregory “Greg” Allen Ista, 56, of Fargo, ND, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, December 9, 2021.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Vertin-Munson Funeral Home in Wahpeton, ND.

Greg was born October 31, 1965 to Allen and DeAnn (Lokken) Ista in Fargo, ND. He was the youngest of 4 children, with three older sisters. He attended Clara Barton, Agassiz and South High. He spent his young adult years helping on the family farm until moving back to Fargo, ND. He enjoyed working hard at construction, metalworking and various other positions.

Greg loved to cook and BBQ. He had a knack for making the best steaks! He also enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and gardening. His favorite past-time activity was to visit with family and friends.

Not having any children of his own, Greg adored his nieces and nephews. He called them ‘his kids’.

He is survived by his sisters, Jane (Randy) Allenstein, and their children, Kelly (Dave) Arnsdorf and James (Jennifer) Allenstein; Linda (Wayne) Kutzer, and their children, Scott (Lois) Vorachek and Mackenzie Kutzer; Annette (Laurel) Johnson, and their children, Nick (Jenna) Johnson, Nate Johnson and Cory Johnson; his aunt, Lorraine Ista; his best friend, Tommy; 2 nieces, 5 nephews, 6 great-nieces, and 3 great-nephews. He truly loved them all!

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and many extended family members.
