Jeanette Chermak

Jeanette Goheen Chermak, 96, Wahpeton, ND, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Breckenridge, MN. The Funeral Mass will be Monday, January 27, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton, ND, with Rev. Dale Lagodinski as celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton, in the spring.

Jeanette was born December 22, 1917, in Lawler, Iowa. On June 3, 1937 she married Raymond C. Chermak at Garnavillo, Iowa. The couple lived for five years in Rockwell City, Iowa and then in Mountain Lake and Detroit Lakes, MN. They moved to Wahpeton, ND in 1949. For several years Jeanette worked at the Leach Public Library. Ray passed away January 15, 1983; Jeanette continued living in Wahpeton. Jeanette aged gracefully and always with humor in spending her last years at home in the Leach Home in Wahpeton.

Jeanette was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Wahpeton. She will be remembered for her love of books and being a good cook.

Jeanette is survived by her daughters, Jean (Jerry) Finch of Brooklyn Center, MN and Mary Kay (Gary J.) of Silver Spring, MD; grandchildren: Tim Finch, Laurie Finch Baumgart, Adam Krump, and Jonathon Krump, 5 great grandchildren, niece, Barb Goodrich and nephew Jim Sherlin of Glenwood, MN.
