Rosemary Dahlgren

June 7, 1925 — February 27, 2011

Rosemary was born June 7, 1925, at Wahpeton, ND, the daughter of Joseph and Magdalen (Georger) Gilles. She grew up near Barney, ND, and attended country school. She graduated from Wahpeton High School in 1944 and started nursing training in Fargo. She taught country school for a short time and married Charles "Chuck" Dahlgren on June 26, 1947 at St. John's Catholic Church. They made their home in Wahpeton and Rosemary stayed at home to raise their seven children. All attended St. John's Catholic School, six of them attended NDSCS, and one served in the US Army in Vietnam for two tours. After the children were in school Rosemary served as bartender for George McCullough, Larry Chase, Sport Lenzmeier, Cy Hermes, Joyce and Gene DeVries. Chuck passed away June 11, 1982. She retired in 1983 to help her daughter care for her family.

Rosemary is survived by her four children: Betty Krump, Wahpeton; Jay (Cindy) Dahlgren, Grand Forks, ND; Robin (Karen) Dahlgren, Wahpeton; and Tim Dahlgren, Kenyon, MN; 14 grandchildren, her brother, Pete (Angie) Gilles, Battle Lake, MN; her three sisters: Betty Faye, Algonquin, IL; Vivian (Jack) Joyce, Colorado Springs, CO; and Magdalen Eckman, Grand Forks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chuck, two daughters, Rachel Gannon and Jeanne Christensen, and a son, Dean Dahlgren.
